The Elder Scrolls Online
Bringing The Elder Scrolls series to the online space is no easy task, and ZeniMax Media does the franchise justice. Not only do you get a beefy story-driven adventure much like the games from the Elder Scrolls ‘main’ series, but you also get a damn near endless amount of memorable quests – and for the first time, experience it all cooperatively with your buddies. It doesn’t end there, the game manages to be more precise with its combat mechanics, making every hit you make/take feel important.
You assume the role of Wilson, a scientist who (unfortunately) has been caught by an evil demon and sent to a mysterious wilderness world. You’re completely stranded, and must figure out the best way to utilize your environments, and its inhabitants; forcing you to bust out all of the survivalist skills necessary.
No More Heroes
Arriving on Nintendo’s Wii as a brand new (eventually timed) exclusive IP, Capcom unloads a comedic story with intense gameplay that’s bursting with gory-goodness. You play as Travis Touchdown, a serial murderer who’s trying to become the number one assassin in the world. The game features a lovable world with awesome characters and mini games.
Okami is one of the best Zelda games that’s not actually a Zelda game. Let me explain, Okami tells an intriguing tale of ?kami Amaterasu, the goddess of the sun, in the form of a white wolf. The game is gorgeous and filled with beautiful, vivid colors. The game features in innovative gameplay mechanic; using a paintbrush, you draw symbols that are effective in different ways. It’s incredibly unique, and undeniably fun. The text-bubbles and adventure gameplay will surely remind you of Zelda, which is great!
Star Wars: The Old Republic
Throughout Star Wars: The Old Republic, you explore the Galaxy thousands of years before the rise of Darth Vader. There is war between the Old Republic and the Sith Empire that divides the galaxy into two. You can choose to play as Jedi, Sith, or a variety of other classic Star Wars roles, defining their own personal story and determining whether they choose the path down the light or dark side of the Force.
Darksiders II deviates elements from The Legend of Zelda series, while adding its own unique flavor of mechanics. It’s the perfect mix of action, puzzles, and collecting new items. You play as Death, the fourth rider of the apocalypse, you embark on a grand adventure to fight your way to victory. It goes bigger and better than the original, and features some epic quests throughout the story.
When it comes to Fable III, almost everything from previous iterations has been improved. From the visuals, the comedy, and even your dog. Also, the game is a ton of fun and bursting with the personally we know and love from the Fable universe. Watch out Albion, there’s a new king in charge!
It’s time to enforce justice by all means necessary. In a crime-ridden urban area (seemingly) built for the sole purpose of exploration. The over-the-top gameplay in this gigantic world is seriously exhilarating. Throw in some co-op gameplay and an interactive world where nearly anything can be used to take out enemies, and you get incredibly addicting gameplay. Crackdown is action-packed and bursting with unique gameplay mechanics.
State of Decay
The end is here; life as we know it has gone to hell after the mother of all zombie outbreaks begins. In this massive open-world, you build up a group of survivors to take on hoards of zombies. But beware of dying, if you do then all of that survivor’s stats are gone, and items must be retrieved. Talk about high stakes! Scavenging through reckless, abandoned areas you get an uneasy feeling, and you’re always on your toes.
Batman: Arkham Origins
Arkham Origins is more Batman insanity! It uses the free-flow combat system made famous in previous Arkham titles. Working seamlessly, you bash your way through waves of baddies, truly feeling like the Dark Knight himself. A boatload of new gadgets were added to Batman‘s arsenal in Origins. Also, detective mode had been enhanced adding new ways to feel like a badass crime solver.
