The official Minecraft website just announced that the Magic: The Gathering skin pack is out now. It’s currently available for download exclusively on the Pocket and Windows 10 editions of Minecraft. However, the developers promised that console versions would be on digital shelves in the near future — so hopefully that includes the PS Vita Edition.
What to Expect:
What can you expect from these Magic: The Gathering skins? Prepare to dress up as some of the most iconic and legendary Planeswalkers from the Magic card game. Including favorites like Liliana Vess, Avacyn, Ajani Goldmane, and more! What’s great is players will have the the ability to use some of these Magic skins at no cost at all. If you do however, end up loving them, you can buy the remaining skins for just a few bucks.
Bringing these skins to the magical world of Minecraft was no easy task, according to Sarah Kisor, one of the artists behind this DLC pack. She mentioned how the most difficult part of developing these skins was simplifying the design of the Magic: The Gathering planeswalkers. As you know, all Minecraft characters are rendered in blocks, so they had to put emphasis on the most famous characteristics of each planeswalker to make them recognizable to fans of Magic.
Currently, there are a total of 15 skins to choose from. For only $2.99 CAD, I would recommend anyone who is a fan of both Minecraft and Magic: the Gathering to pick them up.
