The PlayStation VR headset has been enjoying some decent success since it launched back in 2016. While Sony has done a good job at engineering the headset itself, one odd thing about its design is that it uses the old PS Move controllers from the PS3 era. This was probably done to cut costs for both R&D as well as consumers since millions of people already had the controllers. It looks like Sony might be ready to make some advancements, though.
Patent filings have been uncovered which show what appears to be a new controller for the PS VR. It seems to resemble that of the handle of a flight joystick, which is a pretty different design from the current PS Move wands.
Of course, this isn’t a confirmation that a new PS VR controller is on the way. These patent filings could possibly never turn into anything tangible; we’ll just have to wait and see.
