Gran Turismo Sport, the newest-entry in Sony’s PlayStation-exclusive Gran Turismo series has appeared to have hit 2 million units sold worldwide.
This report comes from estimates found on VGChartz. The sales-tracking site claims that estimates bring the title up to 2,098,514 units sold worldwide as of the end of November of last year. This means it would have taken the game just a month and a half to have hit this milestone, since it launched on October 17th.
The reason why this estimate is being considered a rumor is because this is not an official figure from Sony, and so VGChartz’ estimate could be inaccurate.
Polyphony Digital, the studio behind the title, was met with a bit of controversy shortly after launch due to the some of the changes that fans were not fond of compared to past GT entries, such as making nearly every mode in the game require a constant online connection. Improvements have been made since release with several updates.
