A listing titled “Splinter Cell 2018” was spotted on Amazon’s Canadian website by a Redditor earlier today. Likely a placeholder title at best, the listing could point to an E3 reveal for the next Splinter Cell game. Ubisoft’s popular series is nearing dormant-status, as five years have gone by since the latest release with the Splinter Cell name only appearing in rumors. Splinter Cell: Blacklist, the most recent game in the series, came out in 2013 to critical acclaim and Metacritic scores in the 80s.
Splinter Cell is yet to appear on the current generation of consoles. At an interview during E3 2017, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot said, “We are not forgetting Splinter Cell,” but claimed that Ubisoft had a lot on its plate at that time. Perhaps, one year later, there is room on that plate for a Splinter Cell revival.
