Ever since Sony announced they were not going to attend E3 2019, the question of how they planned to unveil upcoming plans for their platform was still in the air. Shawn Layden was quick to point out that formats like E3 were not as useful as they once were due to online reporting. Sony has moved on to a more Nintendo-like strategy. They will provide announcements for PS4 and PS VR software through an online transmission. PlayStation’s State of Play debuts on Monday, March 25th at 2:00 PM PST / 5:00 PM EST.
Sony shared all this information through the PlayStation Blog. In their post, PlayStation added that these transmissions would feature updates, new trailers, some new game announcements, and additional gameplay footage. The broadcast will be live worldwide on Twitch, YouTube, Twitter, and Facebook. An On-Demand version of the live stream will also be available shortly after the live presentation. Sony also promised that this wouldn’t be a unique occasion. PlayStation’s State of Play streams will return throughout the year with additional features and announcements.
