If you have been eagerly anticipated the upcoming remaster for Crash Team Racing, you will be glad to know that it will include even more content later this year. Developed by Beenox, Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled will be adding tracks from the sequel, Nitro Kart, as well!
Speaking to Gamespot, Beenox co-studio head Thomas Wilson had plenty to say regarding the remaster and the direction the studio was taking.
“With the name Nitro-Fueled, we wanted to see how we could complement the original experience. We did that by adding new tracks that originated from Crash Nitro Kart, and which we decided pretty early on we were going to do that. We felt it was the right decision, and it was all about creating a more well-rounded package for fans.”
It would not be Crash Team Racing if it did not put you to the test, and based on the PAX East demo, it would seem the core element of fun still remains, blended with a level of challenge that would be familiar to returning players. Plus, it looks darn good!
Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled will also be making some tweaks and changes to the original’s gameplay. One example is removing all the anti-gravity sections from Nitro Kart‘s tracks, so they match the original’s courses.
Car combat mode will also be expanded with maps and modes from Nitro Kart as well. That is 12 different battle maps along with several game types, such as Capture The Flag.
In other PAX East news, Borderlands 3 finally got its reveal at Gearbox’s panel, with the Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition and Borderlands: The Handsome Collection coming to current-generation consoles on April 3.
Trophy hunter and dedicated completionist, love to talk all things games!
