A brief scene of soldiers walking through a dense jungle followed after the Sony Interactive Entertainment logo appeared. As many gamers were jumping to conclusions and trying to guess what exclusive’s sequel was this going to be, the mysterious sound and trademark Predator’s camouflage made its appearance. Predator: Hunting Grounds got announced during today’s State of Play.
Predator: Hunting Grounds will be an asymmetric online multiplayer. Thus, one thing is worthy of celebration. The title development is led by IllFonic with a close partnership with Fox and SIE. The title is slated for a 2020 release. Charles Brungardt, CEO of IllFonic, added a bit of the background story on how Predator: Hunting Grounds came to be on the PlayStation Blog.
Brungardt explained that his team loves asymmetrical experiences. Due to this, the game will consist of a group of players that will control a fireteam and other player controlling the deadly stealth menace that is the Predator.
The fireteam will have regular military missions, like clearing areas or collecting specific items. Meanwhile, they intend to complete their tasks, the Predator will always be vigilant and closing in by the second. In addition, Brungardt stated that his team has a “gameplay over everything” motto, promising that will be evident from the starting moments of Predator: Hunting Grounds.
