As we move closer to the release of Persona 5 Royal, the definitive version of the JRPG, developers Atlus has been teasing the additions they are making to the original game.
Plenty of content and substantial overhauls to the narrative have been showcased in several trailers and the “Morgana Report.” And the latest trailer to drop reveals even more new events centered around Ann Takamaki, and how Persona 5 Royal is sharply focused on the characters in the game.
Witness one of many all-new partner attacks, this time with Ann and Morgana raining down gunfire and explosives, and it is clear that Persona 5 Royal has no qualms going crazy with its attacks and visuals.
On the social events front, Ann’s bestie Shiho Suzui is brought back into the mix, which is a stark difference from the original game as she practically disappeared after the events at the Shujin Academy. This time around, players will get to see her, Ann, and Joker hanging around quite late into the game, on January 4, in the underground mall in brand new outfits.
According to a fan translation, Ann is hyping up how Shiho is a star on the school’s volleyball squad.
There are also more new scenes for Ann as she leads a school clean-up project in Inokashira Park and teaches the students how to go about recycling trashed umbrellas properly. Ann and Joker also share a conversation in what appears to be her room full of shoes, while wearing a letterman jacket over the official Shujin uniform, another new sight in Persona 5 Royal.
There will surely be more to come from Atlus as the release of the game draws near on October 31 for Japan, and sometime in 2020 for the West, exclusively for the PS4.
Fans can only wait for even more wacky stuff which Persona 5 Royal will surely bring, but if you are interested, you can read our thoughts on why we think Persona 4 is a better game than the original Persona 5.
