With the massive launch and generally great reviews of Borderlands 3, the 2K and Gearbox Software title is not without some issues once it got into the hands of consumers. This is particularly so on the PlayStation 4, as there have been complaints of lag and slowdown during splits-screen play when a player opens up the in-game menu.
According to a statement obtained by IGN, a 2K Games representative confirmed that the problem is being looked at and will be fixed by Gearbox soon.
We are aware that in some cases during split-screen couch co-op play, players can experience lag while in heavy combat and one of the players goes into their ECHOdevice and tries to navigate the skill trees and menus. While we will continue to work to optimize the Borderlands 3 experience, we’d advise split-screen players to prep for combat ahead of big encounters, and not leave a teammate to fight solo mid firefight!
With the co-op experience essential to the core of Borderlands 3‘s gameplay and the undeniable fun of killing things with friends, it is good news for all players that such issues are being brought to the attention of the developers. A quick fix should soon be on the way, so your couch co-op sessions can continue unabated!
