Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy owners will be happy for find out that there are some free update goodies landing today. A brand new level for the third installment in the Crash series, Warped called “Future Tense,” will be available. This brand new level is inspired by the cut level “Waterfall,” which hardcore fans of the series may recognize. This level focuses on verticality, with Crash ascending a huge skyscraper in an urban jungle with elevators. It is not required to have all of Crash’s abilities unlocked to complete the level, but it is highly recommended.
Included in this update today is the first DLC level “Stormy Ascent,” which has a reputation for being one of the most difficult Crash levels ever. Initially paid downloadable content, it is now free to owners of Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy. If you’re up for the new challenge and haven’t taken a look at what new Crash can offer, there’s no better time to jump in and collect some wumpa fruit as you slide and spin your way through the levels!
In addition to the new levels being free, there will be some updates to the game through PSN. Loading times will be decreased for the game thanks to Vicarious Visions’ team implementing its “Nitro loading technology,” which basically predictively loads level data as you play, and keeps the most frequently used asset in the system memory. HDR support is also included in today’s free update. If your console and television can support HDR, it will be automatically enabled once the game is started.
Are you a fan of Crash Bandicoot and have already purchased the updated and remade classic trilogy? Do these new and free offerings entice you to return to the game if you have it already? If you don’t own the game, does this update make you want to pick it up with the additional free content and HDR support? Sound off in the comments!
