Hideo Kojima’s ambitious and upcoming project, Death Stranding, continues to mystify gamers and remains one of 2019’s most anticipated titles. The PlayStation exclusive not only stars plenty of Hollywood heavyweights like Mads Mikkelsen, Lea Seydoux, and at one point, even Keanu Reeves, but is an entirely new genre in itself according to Kojima.
At San Diego Comic-Con, both Kojima and movie director Nicolas Winding Refn was on a panel discussing the game, and we got the first look at the official box art of Death Stranding, as well as the SteelBook case, courtesy of Twitter user kalai_chik.

Both editions have Norman Reedus’ Sam Bridges on the cover, with the SteelBook version stripping him of the suit that is now familiar to anyone following Death Stranding.
On a more humorous note, Kojima also brought along the life-sized BB Pod statue that comes with the Collector’s Edition of the game, and noted that he was stopped by Customs coming into the USA because of it.
The rest of the cast are made up of Margaret Qualley as Mama, The Last of Us‘s Troy Baker as Higgs. Lindsay Wagner plays Amelie, while Guillermo del Toro is Deadman.
Death Stranding will arrive on the PlayStation 4 this November 8.
