At this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, Death Stranding‘s Hideo Kojima and movie director Nicolas Winding-Refn (who is also in the game) took the stage in a panel to discuss the mysterious title that will be coming this November 8.
Among the many insights and discussions, it would appear that the world of Death Stranding could have been different if Kojima did not have his way, according to Twitter user Kalai_chik.

Yes, instead of Mads Mikkelsen aka Hannibal, players could have gotten a taste of John Wick instead as one of the many celebrity appearances in Death Stranding.
In true Kojima fashion, he tried shedding more light on the game but it is still hard to wrap your head around it.
You’re alone playing as Sam (Norman Reedus); you’re trying to connect city to city. I can’t speak much but everyone will be playing around the world and we’ll have an indirect connections. I’m an Otaku and I felt like my teachers and family didn’t understand me. I came to SDCC 10 years ago and met a lot of people like me, so I think that’s what you’ll get from this game.
Mads Mikkelsen is joined by characters played by Lea Seydoux as Fragile; Margaret Qualley plays Mama, while The Last of Us‘s Troy Baker portrays Higgs. Lindsay Wagner plays Amelie, while Guillermo del Toro is Deadman.
