With the standings of the latest UK physical sales charts arriving on Monday, Hideo Kojima’s Death Stranding has now claimed the title of being the second biggest new IP to launch this year, just behind Bend Studio’s Days Gone.
On the UK charts, the recent big releases Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Death Stranding take the top two spots, while Nintendo’s Luigi’s Mansion 3 is just behind FIFA 20 at fourth place.
Death Stranding launched on November 8 and has become the second biggest PS4 exclusive to release this year, and its sales will only continue to rise once the game hits PC on both Steam and Epic Games Store. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare launched on October 25, and we were instant fans. “Activision and Infinity Ward aimed high and landed perfectly, delivering one of the best campaigns in current generation shooters”
Days Gone was an April release, and was a consistent performer in May, claiming the top spot for three weeks running, and in our review, we found that “the world of Days Gone is what stole the show. It’s beautiful, evolving, and full of chaos.”
The charts are as follows:
- Call of Duty: Modern Warfare
- Death Stranding
- FIFA 2020
- Luigi’s Mansion 3
- Need for Speed: Heat
- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
