As Bungie prepares for the launch of the Shadowkeep expansion for Destiny 2, there are even more major changes in the pipelines to come. The Eververse Store is getting overhauled, with the cosmetics rewards being a focal point, and a new blog post outline what is going to happen in the new seasons.

Director Luke Smith introduced a new Season Pass system that will come into effect in the next year of Destiny 2. Under the current arrangement, players buy an Annual Pass, which includes three seasons of content such as new activities, stories, Exotic Weapons, and new cosmetic gear. Year 3 will introduce a Season Pass for each new season at $10 each, and will function similarly to what Fortnite and Apex Legends call their Battle Pass.

The Season of the Undying, which is part of Destiny 2‘s Shadowkeep expansion, will have players working on their Season Rank as well. Completing activities and bounties will earn you points, regardless if you get the Season Pass or not. Increase in rank and you will be rewarded with more loot, such as two ExoticWeapons, finishers, emotes, and armor.

Buying the Season Pass will make you progress faster, including an Exotic Weapon at your first Season Rank.

The system echoes the old seasonal engram system, which gave players under the Annual Pass random drops as they progress through the season. The new Season Pass will not have random drops, and rewards will be pegged directly to your progress, and with 100 levels to earn in each Pass, there is plenty to earn. Bungie is also planning to let players buy ranks as Seasons come to a close so you can grab all the rewards up for grabs if you are pressed for time.
