First revealed during the Upload VR E3 show, OC6 Solaris: Offworld Combat is the new title being developed by the folks behind another VR shooter, Firewall: Zero Hour. Thanks to Upload VR, we now have more details about the First Contact Entertainment’s next offering in the VR space.
OC6 Solaris: Offworld Combat is once again a multiplayer-only title, and will feature 4v4 matches at blistering speeds. Crossplay will be coming to the game, and it will be releasing both on the Oculus Quest and Rift simultaneously in 2020, with the PS VR version coming later with no crossplay capability. The best news is that the game will have dedicated servers right from the off.
The launch of OC6 Solaris: Offworld Combat will have one game mode, Control Point, which is reminiscent of King of the Hill modes, where players gain points by simply controlling certain points on a map. This is in line with the premise, as players are cast as as “a massively skilled, futuristic competitive VR esports participant inside the game of Solaris”
The developers are aiming to make the game accessible to new players, but also have the necessary depth for veterans to study and master, and is being made by a different team due to support on Firewall: Zero Hour continuing.
