Another day, another PlayStation departure. It feels like spring cleaning over at PlayStation as one of the more recognizable and beloved faces has confirmed his departure from the company. Gio Corsi, Senior Director of Third Party Production and Developer Relations at PlayStation and the Head of Global Second Party Games, will no longer be the face of the Vita, and robs us of yet another appearance on a PlayStation stage.

In a Twitter thread, Corsi thanked many of his co-workers who made his “time there truly special,” including the similarly departed Shawn Layden.

Gio Corsi has not shared any details about his destination, but it will likely still be in the industry he knows and love. Well-known for being the PlayStation Vita’s biggest supporter, the likelihood of a game coming to the Vita will always skyrocket when he was onstage. It is evident the love remains, judging from his heartfelt message.

Finally, a hearty thank-you to all the great devs, pubs, partners, friends & fans who made my time at PlayStation so memorable.. so many cool moments. From all the titles, to all the shows, as I said, it was a hell of a ride! Thanks for it all & long love the Vita!

With the launch of the PS5 coming in just a year or so, the departure of yet another PlayStation figurehead could mean things are shaking up behind-the-scenes. However, we will not know until Holiday 2020, and in the meantime, we will keep you updated on where Corsi ends up next, especially if he remains in games.
