A return of an iconic map in the Battlefield series is imminent. On December 12, Battlefield V players will once again do battle in the chaos that is Wake Island, which made its first appearance back in 2002’s Battlefield 1942, and is highly regarded as the foundation on which the multiplayer experiences you see today are built on.
In a new trailer released today, developers EA Dice gave us more insight into the map’s changes for Battlefield V, with its greater size and the addition of even more vehicles to wreak havoc in making this iteration of Wake Island the definitive version in the franchise’s history.
The launch of the Wake Island map comes as part of the continuing support for the first-person shooter, which is now into its fifth chapter. The new Update 5.2 that comes with the new map will include a whole host of other important additions and tweaks, such as weapon rebalancing, new vehicles, and bug fixes. The full patch notes are now available on the game’s blog.
