With the release of The Last of Us: Remastered right around the corner, Naughty Dog have been constantly telling us how good the game looks compared to its PS3 counterpart. So far they’ve not actually released any official footage or screenshots but it seems like we can now finally have a look for ourselves.
These screenshots were found on a Korean site that alongside what looks like a SCE Korea press release. The last picture was found on NeoGAF. At first we couldn’t be sure if the pics were real but the Naughty Dog Community Strategist, Arne Meyer, posted on NeoGAF saying: “I think those screens were from the batch we sent for a print only feature in Japan. They may have been accidentally distributed. We’ll see what happened, but regardless enjoy!”
The image below is an identical screenshot that Sony released for the PS3 release of The Last of Us, so VideoGamer.com put the two images together to have a closer look.
You can see that the character models have improved and the detail is sharper. Ellie’s hair has been made to look more realistic.
The Last of Us: Remastered is due for release on August 1st, exclusively on PS4.
