Monster Hunter World: Iceborne sales have now passed 4 million units in total, that’s according to Capcom who announced the news today. Sales for Monster Hunter World: Iceborne, as well as many other Capcom games, were reported by the company today, when they also revealed that net sales for 2019 were up. Last year the company saw great performance from games like Monster Hunter World, Devil May Cry 5, and Resident Evil 2 Remake. 2019 was actually the fourth consecutive year that Capcom reported increased net sales, and the best year they’ve seen since 2014.
In total, Capcom’s net sales for 2019 showed an increase of 5.8 percent year-on-year to $910 million. The company’s income was also up at $114 million, an increase of 14.8 percent year-on-year.
Monster Hunter World has been a particular success for Capcom. The game launched in January 2018, with very little competition in terms of other releases at the time. The game grew throughout the year, and has now topped 15 million sales in total, an incredibly impressive number of units sold. In 2019 alone the game sold 4.5 million units, showing that it had already sold 10 million within the first year. Monster Hunter World: Iceborne is the game’s first expansion. The expansion has sold 4 million units since it launched late last year, and shows no signs of slowing down.
