We brought you the news earlier in the week that a Need for Speed branded countdown had appeared on the Electronic Arts website. Well, the countdown has expired and we now have a reveal trailer for Need for Speed Heat. You can check it out below –

While this does introduce some aspects of the game there’s still not an awful lot to go on. As well as the name of the game we can also deduce that there appears to be a lot of Need for Speed-ness going on here. There’s drifting, street racers, police chases, and car upgrades. The trailer also suggests that you will be part of a crew and one of the characters will be a woman with a thick spanish accent. Whether this is the character you are playing as or will be aiding you on your journey, only time will tell. And speaking of time, it appears that you will be racing in both the day time and the night time. So, this is already one step above 2015’s Need for Speed.

A quick look on the Electronic Arts website has given us a few more details. First off, the game will launch on 8th November. Next we learned that they are planning to release a gameplay trailer during Gamescom. In fact there is a timer for that release which runs out on Monday. We also managed to find an official description for the game which you can check out below –

Hustle by day and risk it all at night in Need for Speed™ Heat, a white-knuckle street racer, where the lines of the law fade as the sun starts to set. By day, Palm City hosts the Speedhunter Showdown, a sanctioned competition where you earn Bank to customize and upgrade your high-performance cars. At night, ramp up the intensity in illicit street races that build your reputation, getting you access to bigger races and better parts. But stay ready – cops are waiting and not all of them play fair.
