If Ubisoft’s track record of Easter Eggs is to be believed, it appears the next Assassin’s Creed game will be set in the Viking era. It would possibly be a 2020 game, considering how 2019 is earmarked for Odyssey‘s Fate of Atlantis episodic DLC. the remastered edition of Assassin’s Creed III.

This comes via posters found in another Ubisoft title, The Division 2. YouTuber JorRaptor noticed numerous Viking posters located in the Potomac Event Center featured a Norse figure holding what appears to be an Apple of Eden.

Kotaku has confirmed from two independent sources “familiar with the game” that the next Assassin’s Creed codenamed “Kingdom” will star Vikings and releases in 2020.

The Apple of Eden appears not just in the original game, but also Assassin’s Creed II, Brotherhood, Revelations, III, Syndicate, and Origins. This Piece of Eden has also appeared in books, comics, and even the live-action movie.

Developed by a fictional race that lived centuries before us, such mystical objects have been repeatedly used as the main source of power for some of history’s most supernatural or divine figures.

In other Ubisoft news, the new World Tier is now live in The Division 2, alongside new additions as the new Raid, Operation Dark Hours, get a release date.
