Some very convincing Resident Evil 3 Remake cover art has recently appeared on the PSN. Should the art be real, then this adds even more credence to the recent rumours of a remake for Resident Evil 3 that have been doing the rounds over the last couple of months. The artwork was first seen by Nibel on Twitter, who points out that it can be found on GamStat, a website that tracks all the recently released or added games to the PlayStation Network.

If you head to the official GamStat site here, you will see the listings for Resident Evil: Project Resistance and Resident Evil 3 Remake. Interestingly, the artwork shows a new take on Nemesis, the Tyrant enemy who hunts players throughout the entire campaign of Resident Evil 3 Nemesis.
This second image shows that something that will likely be known as the Z Version of the game has also been listed. This could be a reference to the digital deluxe edition, which many games receive today, or a specific collector’s edition that could have some special bonus content. Only time will tell exactly what this version might be.
It’s important to note that the listing for the remake of Resident Evil 3 is limited to Japan, meaning that this artwork is far from the final version that will be seen on the European and North American PlayStation Store. That’s not as important as the fact that the listing itself exists, however, because it shows that all the rumours, which have seemed quite legitimate already, are almost definitely true.
Resident Evil 3 Nemesis remains one of the only Resident Evil games never to see a remake or remaster, and it’s about time something happened with the underrated entry to Capcom’s horror series.
