Rugby 20 scores a gameplay trailer ahead of the closed beta

Here at PlayStation Enthusiast, we like to think that our audience has an eclectic taste when it comes to video games. And this news is for a game that will probably only appeal to the most eclectic of our US audience. Bigben Games has just released a gameplay trailer for their upcoming sports title, Rugby 20. For those of you not living in Europe or one of the many Commonwealth countries, Rugby is kind of like American Football without the pads or helmets. Anyway, here’s the gameplay trailer

This nearly 5-minute long video gives you a good idea of what you can expect from Rugby 20. It might not quite reach the level of graphical fidelity of an EA Sports title but it’s good enough (and hopefully not rife with gambling, loot boxes, and microtransactions). Non-rugby fans may take a while to get to grips with some of the rules but there does seem to be some similarity in controls to games like the Madden series.

There is a closed beta for Rugby 20 that starts tomorrow and runs until 17th October. To gain access, all you have to do is pre-order the game which is scheduled to launch on 23rd January next year.
