That’s right ladies and gentlemen, the upcoming thriller and next installment in the horror/survival franchise Silent Hill has reportedly been cancelled, and reported by Norman Reedus himself. There were worries that the game might have been in trouble after the ongoing feud between Konami and Hideo Kojima.
Just recently, Konami removed Kojima’s logo from their next two upcoming games including one that has been synonymous with Kojima, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, and Silent Hills. Konami claimed that the game’s production would continue to move forward with or without Kojima’s involvement. However, on his twitter, lead actor for the game Norman Reedus has just about confirmed the cancellation of the game.
Reedus tweeted “super bummed about this was really looking forward to it. Hopefully it’ll come back around. Sorry everyone.” He also included a link to a website about the cancellation of the game.
The Playable Teaser or P.T as it was entitled, was well received by fans and critics alike, but will also be taken off the store come April 29. Renowned director who was helping on the game as well, Guillermo Del Torro also had unconfirmed news that the game would not be continuing saying “it’s not gonna happen and that breaks my greasy heart”.
This would have been Norman Reedus’ first game outside of hit AMC TV series The Walking Dead. As for Kojima, he apparently is 100% behind Metal Gear Solid’s production.
