The Game Awards 2019 Nominees have been announced by Geoff Keighley and it an interesting selection of titles this year.

Death Stranding is up for seven nominations, on top of two Best Performance nominations for Mads Mikkelson as Cliff and Norman Reedus as Sam.

Notably, Days Gone is not nominated for a single award, suggesting the title wasn’t remembered fondly by the voting Jury. Other smaller PlayStation exclusives are nominated for awards, including Blood and Truth for the best VR/AR game and Concrete Genie for the Games For Impact category.

The Game of the Year awards has six nominees this year: Control, Death StrandingResident Evil 2, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and The Outer Worlds.

December 12 is the date set for The Game Awards 2019 and it is set to host a number of World Premiere announcements on the biggest games launching next year, likely for PS5, alongside the PS4. The show will also feature live performances of video game music, and special guests, with Geoff Keighley teasing an appearance from a certain Untitled Goose.

The Game Awards 2019 will take place on December 12, 2019.
