As we come to the end of 2019, we still have time for one last big show for the gaming industry, The Game Awards 2019 promises plenty of big reveals and trailers, and we are here to catch you up for everything you have missed, so sit tight!

The Game Awards 2019 Announcements/Reveals

With musical performances by the likes of Green Day, Chvrches, and Grimes, the show that celebrates the gaming industry had plenty to show for all three big players. Here’s what went down at the Microsoft Theatre on December 12.

Xbox Series X

Microsoft showed off the Project Scarlett, now known as the Xbox Series X for the first time ever. Touting power, speed, and performance, this is the first glimpse of the next-generation of consoles for the first time. Hellbalde II Senua’s Saga

Seemingly continuing the story from where we left off from Hellblade, Ninja Theory looks to expand upon what made the first game so successful with the power of the next-gen console from Xbox. This will be their first exclusive as a first-party studio.


Our first PS5 game reveal is Godfall, a brand new IP that is described as a looter-slasher. An action-RPG that you can play both solo and co-op, Counterplay will be working with Gearbox Software to make this happen.

Bravely Default 2

Team Asano, the team behind Octopath Traveler and Bravely Default, is working on a new title for the Nintendo Switch together with Square Enix, and it is a sequel. Bravely Default 2 comes in 2020.

Warframe Empyrean

Launching at the show first for PC, the new update will soon come to the consoles as well as the Switch. Going from space ninjas to space pirates, this game just keeps getting better.

Magic: the Gathering – Theros Beyond Death

The ever-popular card game returns to a familiar world, as Magic: The Gathering brings players back to face the gods and myths of Theros.


Another world premiere, this short teaser gave us a look at what playerunknown is working on. It’s not much, but certainly interesting for sure as a first-person experience.

Fortnite x Star Wars

A collaboration with Star WarsFortnite will be holding a live event on Saturday that will include both Geoff Keighley as well as the director of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, and includes a new glider and even more surprises. Skins for the latest film are also available now.

Sons of the Forest

A helicopter crash, mysterious creatures, and a general sense of horror accompanies the first-person thriller that is Sons of the Forest, developed by Endnight Games, the people behind The Forest.

Ruined King – A League of Legends Story

As part of Riot Games’ publishing initiative, Riot Forge, we got the first look at one of the projects under their care, Ruined King – A League of Legends Story being developed by Airship Syndicate, which will be a turn-based strategy title involving the champions of the MOBA.

Cyberpunk 2077

While the game wasn’t showed off at the show, we got a look at what is going on behind-the-scenes making the soundtrack for one of the most anticipated games of 2020.

Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance

An action-RPG in a world many love, Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance is being developed by Tuque Studios up in Canada. More details to come for this, surely.

Apex Legends – Mirage’s Holo-Day Bash

More content will be coming to Respawn’s battle royale, Apex Legends, and the party starts immediately with content centred around the holiday season.

Ori and the Will of the Wisps

Moon Studios is back with another look at one of the best platformers of this generation, Ori and the Will of the Wisps continues to look stunning and challenging, coming on March 11, 2020.

Weird West

Wolfeye Studios, made up of veterans of Dishonored and Prey, gave us a short tease at the first project from the new studio. Together with Devolver Digital, they are working on Weird West, an action-RPG experience set with a surreal vision of the developing frontier.

Magic Legends

A new MMORPG experience with mythical creatures and human warriors and sorcerors, it is going to be you against the world in Magic Legends

Path of the Warrior

Oculus Studios is bringing the good old sidescrolling street fight into the world of VR in Path of the Warrior, available now!

Ghost of Tsushima

Finally, we have a release window for Sucker Punch’s upcoming samurai epic, Ghost of Tsushima. Coming in Summer 2020, the full trailer teased at the State of Play gave us the legends surrounding the Ghost himself, and all the brutality he brings to the battlefield, all accompanied by the live orchestra performance of the game’s soundtrack. “Tell him I am coming,” he says to a defeated foe, and we cannot wait.

Gears Tactics

The spinoff from the iconic Gears‘ series becomes a tactical affair, with a 40+ hour campaign that is brutal, personalized, and in glorious turn-based combat. It is time to rise up and fight on April 28, 2020.

Naraka Bladepoint

Coming out of China, 24 Entertainment’s multiplayer melee-focused affair will hopefully let players relive the amazing duels known in Chinese folklore in scintillating fashion, coming in 2020.

9-5 Nine to Five

Redhill Games, developers behind Max Payne and Quantum Break, are working on 9-5 Nine to Five, a strategic first-person shooter in a world where corporations have taken over the world. The Alpha registration is open now and will take place in 2020.

New World

A place of unimaginable beauty, and a growing evil. Where the forces of death and life are in constant conflict. This is where New World will take players in May 2020, developed by Amazon Games.

Convergence – A League of Legends Story

Coming via Riot Forge as well, Double Stallion is working on this new title that is described as a singleplayer action-platformer, and players will assume the role of Echo and explore the intricacies of time-travel and manipulation.

A Wolf Among Us 2

A re-announcement of sorts, The Wolf Among Us 2 will be coming back from the reborn Telltale Games.

Fast and Furious Crossroads

The Fast and the Furious gang crosses over to gaming with an interesting looking Vin Diesel, with Michelle Rodriguez and the rest of the crew along for the ride in Fast and Furious Crossroads, coming in May 2020.
