Arcade games are loved by many players around the world. Some of us had their first gaming experience in this huge gaming machines that sported colorful and appealing game art all over them. Even though technology now allows us to download anything we want in a matter of minutes, worst-case scenario, some hours, this form of gaming is still cherished. Arcade games and arcade-style games are simple and fun to play. They require skill and patience to master in most cases and are extremely rewarding. Some of these great games were exclusive to Japanese territories. Fortunately, some of them come years later to Western territories. This is the case with Vasara. The Vasara Collection will launch this month on August 13 for PS4 and PS Vita.
The collection will include the first two entries of the Japanese shmup, Vasara and Vasara 2. The game was originally released by Visco in 2000. It mixed classic shmup mechanics with its own unique twist, like the dependence of melee attacks to survive. The PS4 and PS Vita release of the Vasara Collection is being handled by QUByte.
Unique features for PS4 and PS Vita
Each version of the game will have its set of unique features. For example, the PS Vita will support Tate Mode, which allows you to play Vasara in its original vertical screen format. In addition, the PS Vita version will support PlayStation TV and multiplayer so you can share the game with a friend on your TV. For PS4, Vasara Collection will include a Timeless Mode. This mode was built from scratch and allows you to play both titles with 3D graphics, widescreen support, new gameplay elements and co-op multiplayer support for up to four players. It is great to see each console receiving a version that suits and take advantage of their specific features, making each version unique.
