Nihon Falcom, the publisher and developer behind Ys IX: Monstrum Nox, teased a Western release for the game. This is excellent news for those who are fans of the JRPG franchise. The game already had planned localizations for the Chinese and Korean markets. Till recently, there was no official word on plans of bringing Ys IX: Monstrum Nox to Western territories. Although, it is worth noting that all recent entries in the Ys saga have been localized for Europe and America. A few days ago, Falcom made its most recent financial earnings report public. Namely, the report mentions future endeavors on Falcom’s agenda. These projects list the localization of Ys IX: Monstrum Nox to other territories.
Given that the game already had a Chinese and Korean version slated for release, the only additional market pending localization would be the Western one. Additionally, the financial report stated that Falcom would “continue releasing their games worldwide, in Japan, North America, Asia, and Europe, with a focus on the Ys series and the Trails series.” Some time ago, during an interview with Dualshockers, the president of Nihongo Falcom, Toshihiro Kondo, mentioned that there wasn’t a Western release planned for Ys IX: Monstrum Nox. Kondo stated Falcom was focused on finishing the game at that moment. Ultimately, the title officially launched in Japan on September 26, 2019. In other words, Falcom can now focus on the localization of the title for other markets. Hopefully, this process will go smooth and swift. Stayed tuned for any official announcements from Falcom in regards to Ys IX: Monstrum Nox!
